Special Interest MeetingsFridayURC PEACE FELLOWSHIP N.B. This is a lunchtime meeting at 12.30 pm. Special Interest Meetings will be held on Friday evening beginning at 8.00 pm. Some of them will be repeated on Saturday evening. Walking routes to the meeting rooms will be signposted. Cars may be driven to and parked at all of the buildings. If you require the services of the vehicle that is adapted for disability use, please ask a steward. CHURCH AND SOCIETY DOCTRINE, PRAYER AND WORSHIP Doctrine, Prayer and Worship Committee offers Assembly members the opportunity to explore the issue of ordination and eldership within the United Reformed Church. A panel of three selected speakers will briefly introduce the issue and the greater part of the time will be available for open discussion. The meeting will be chaired by the Convener of the Doctrine, Prayer and Worship Committee. ECUMENICAL The United Reformed Church is immensely enriched by its international partnerships as we share together in God's mission. During the Assembly we will be joined by representatives of some of these churches and you will be able to hear from them about their Church and country and how they see the world post 11 September from their perspective. Come and join us and get a global perspective on the issues of the day. INTERFAITH RELATIONS LIFE AND WITNESS - Community of Women and Men Violence against women - an exploration of the United Reformed Church's response to this issue in the light of the World Council of Churches Decade to Overcome Violence. Beryl Cowling, the President of Network in the Methodist Church, will facilitate the meeting. She is deeply involved in the ecumenical work in Scotland relating to violence against women. RACIAL JUSTICE The Racial Justice Committee welcomes you to an open, creative, and empowering forum, where we can affirm together the United Reformed Church's commitment to justice and reconciliation. There will be drama, video clips, slides, oral presentation, and time for dialogue and discussion. The tone will be of joy and celebration. Come and celebrate the rainbow colours of our Church. Join the Racial Justice Committee in proclaiming to all who can hear: "We're United, Reformed and proud of it!"
